Product Description

The Drive Developer Premium Resistance Band Hitting System: here's a proven effective hitting tool to build correct muscle memory at different points throughout the swing with Chas Pippitt's I.T.S. Baseball System of hitting which includes online access to simple but ingenius Drive Developer hitting drills.

Before introducing Chas Pippitt and how he has developed a highly effective and simple system that is very specific technically, so hitters can work on real techniques to change how they deliver power in a swing, I want to say how excited I am to finally let the cat out of the bag on this one :)  I've been holding the Drive Developer Premium Hitting System close to my heart over the past few months because we were smoothing out some rough spots in its delivery.  Without further adieu, I present to you: The Drive Developer!!!

Here is one of many Chas's star pupils, we'll call him Carl, pre-Chas & pre-DD:

  • He's a 5'9 160lb second baseman with less than a 200lb bench press and runs a 7.6 second 60 yard dash, and
  • Hit in the high .200's with 1 home run and batted in the bottom 3 of the order in high school and in summer legion ball in Greensboro, NC.

Here's Carl POST-Chas & the DD System:

  • Hit 13 homeruns from his 5th game of high school to his last game of legion ball, hitting 3rd and 4th for both teams...Most of these homeruns came in Legion ball, along with a .400 average that summer, and he made a very prestigious Legion all star game, started and hit a double, and
  • Currently is a Division II NCAA college baseball player.

His upper body isn't very strong evidenced by his sub-200lb bench press, and from his 60 yard time, not much "pop" in his lower half either.  So, how did he go from hitting only 1 homerun in about 60 games, to 13 the next year?

Chas Pippitt from I.T.S Baseball, LLC and The Drive Developer Premium Hitting System he created is how.

Who is this Chas Pippitt?

He was the opposite of Carl in his playing days...he played baseball at Div I NC State and transferred to UNC Asheville to play basketball and baseball after his 3rd semester at NCSU.  Basketball never worked out so he focused on baseball.  He was 6'3" 235lbs, ran a 6.6 second 60 yard dash, threw low 90's off the mound, and could hit a ball as far as anyone during BP.  Here's an insight into Chas's struggles with transferring his God given skill into the batter's box, in his own words:

"It always bothered me that my coaches couldn't tell me what I was doing wrong, so that I could change my luck in hitting.  I figured as athletic as I was, that I could take real information and apply it but the advice was never specific, and if it was, it was always 'high school harry' advice, like 'keep your elbow up' and 'you're hitting too many fly balls'.  They never gave me real technical advice that would actually improve my motions in my swing to make my results have a lasting positive change."

Sound familiar?

I suffered the same knowledge dehydration of my coaches NOT being able to make hitting functional or applicable to my swing, and is why I did so much fricken' research on the subject from middle to high school.  Unfortunately for Chas, myself included, getting a shot to play pro ball didn't work out.

There's a silver lining though...

Since then (and I'm semi-paraphrasing Chas's words) he has literally devoted his life, since college (5+ years), to learning about and developing a system that is very specific technically, so hitters can work on real techniques to change how they deliver power in a swing.  Baseball is one of a very short list of sports where your athleticism can be totally irrelevant.  Only your technique ceiling should be your limiting factor, and with the quality of coaching Chas received, his ceiling was Division 1 baseball.

Chas is a teaching monster, he puts food on the table working with young hitters...he often works from 3-9pm through the week doing hitting lessons, all year long.  Got that?  He's teaching that volume of hitters ALL YEAR ROUND, indoors, outdoors, and in rain, sleet, or snow, he's teaching the proper swing.  He does 40 lessons/week, done over 7,000 lessons since he finished his playing career in 2005, worked with at least 100 different families, and all ranging in ages from 6-26 years old in both baseball and softball.

The element of a good instructor is a ton of hours teaching, and as you can see Chas is quite popular, and is obviously getting his young hitters results or else they'd leave him.  So wouldn't you say Mr. Chas Pippitt is worth listening to?

What does this have to do with The Drive Developer?  Everything.

It's a combination of the DD and Chas's fool proof premium hitting system taking the ordinary kid and making them EXTRA-ordinary, like he did for Carl above.  Lots of baseball hitting aids out there focus on strengthening fast/slow twitch muscle fibers applicable to the swing, like in Overloading and Hyper-Clocking Programs, but they don't teach the firing off of specific muscles in sequential order, using natural kinetic linkage of your body, to infuse max power and consistency into each swing.  This takes the focus off hitting the ball, and trains the muscles to be efficient and explosive.  Sure, at least you'll have a "stronger" swing with some of these other hitting tools, but the technique will be YOUR limiting factor, like it was for Chas and myself.

Now, you might say, "I can make the Drive Developer myself."  It's okay, I raised the same question to Chas.  However, do you know how to use the DD to activate the right hitting for power and consistency muscles Chas's Premium System provides for you via video instruction, so you can experience the same, if not better, results as Carl above?  Probably not, I tried, and I hate to say this, but I failed miserably.

I'm learning everytime I talk to Chas about hitting, his system makes it uber-easy for instructors, such as myself, to train my hitters to hit the ball farther and more consistent than their competition can.  NO more guessing, NO more assuming, his system just is.  Here's a sneak peak into what Chas' DD Premium Hitting System drills will accomplish in YOUR swing:

  • Basic Punch Drills - allows the hitter to suport his back leg and the barrel at contact, so no more dipping and collapsing backsides,
  • Snap Drills - this is the core of the Drive Developer System; creates the proper firing of sequential muscles for hitting inside, middle, or outside pitches, building on the Punch Drills above,
  • Top Hand Snap Drills - focuses on ideal dominant top hand execution
  • Extension Drills - using both hands, builds on the top hand snap drill but adding more resistance, and trains the bottom hand to do LESS "bad" force generation
  • Top Hand Extension Drills - similar to preceding drill but using only the top hand with the added resistance
  • Hand Pivot Drills - this is working on the Slot Position of the swing, teaches to "pivot" the hands, NOT the pulling of the knob forward in the swing...Area Of Impact (AOI) increases, and produces powerful bat lag
  • Front Hand Beside Body Snap Drill - keeping the bat in the Impact Zone through extension
  • Side Thrust Drills - to engage the thrusting hip motion and coordinate it with the snapping of the wrists instead of the pressing of the hands and pulling knob forward as is mistakenly taught.

You won't see another fool-proof Pemium Hitting System out there like Chas's, and the best part is it's super portable and easy to setup and take down.  You can use the DD Premium Hitting System in your bedroom or out on the field.

  1. Strength and control of the barrel are vital in a productive swing

Posted by Carl Willis—MLB Pitching Coach Seattle Mariners on 28th Apr 2011

I have been involved with baseball my entire life from Little League to the Major Leagues. While my experience has been as a pitcher and a pitching coach, studying hitters and their swings is a huge part of learning how to attack hitters. Strength and control of the barrel are vital in a productive swing. The Drive Developer improves both of these areas and can be used at any level. My two boys have used the Drive Developer as well as been instructed by Chas in the I.T.S. Baseball Hitting System, and we have enjoyed our experience and their improvement.

  2. Nothing better

Posted by AJ Bahama N.C. Voyager Academy 1st baseman on 13th Apr 2011

I Have hit With Chaz for a while, and all i can say is that The Drive Developer will make all those little muscles, that are rarely used in your arm strong. And the best part for me is that the handle clicks when you're doing it wrong and rolling those wrists forward. Very Easy Too use and very Effective. If you want results this is the first step!!!

  3. Increase Forearm and Wrist Strength for Functional Hitting/Pitching Training

Posted by William Frazier Former UMD standout, 1st career 2b's, extra base hits, total bases; 2nd career HRs, on 13th Apr 2011

I use the Drive Developer during my private hitting instruction sessions and also on the field with my youth teams. I have found it to be very successful in increasing forearm/wrist strength, while also allowing the hitter to isolate their hitting mechanics through the baseball. On the field, both our hitters and pitchers are able to use the Drive Developer to better prepare them for the upcoming game. It's a must have for any hitter/pitcher looking to take their game to the next level. Preparation is vital in this game and this is a tool that helps you prepare the correct, most efficient way!

  4. Former D-1 and Pro Player that used the Drive Developer

Posted by Rob V on 2nd Apr 2011

As a former Division one and Pro baseball player I was introduced to the Drive Developer after my 2nd season in professional baseball. I was traveling (and in the Raleigh, NC area) and needed a place to workout for the weekend and I was put in touch with Chas Pippitt. At the time the DD was in its infancy and between rounds of BP Chas asked me if I'd try it out and asked for my feedback.

The Drive Developer not only re enforces correct top hand technique but it teaches (or reminds!) hitters of all ages and levels what upper body mechanics should feel like and develops the muscles needed to stay 'long through contact' and drive the baseball. For a player like me who plays at a professional level one of the biggest benefits was the positive re-reinforcement and the portability of the DD. I've often used the DD to warm up muscles and get lose before my pregame routine.

There are many hitting products out there but I can honestly vouch for the fact that Chas spent hundreds of hours developing his product -- and that this product, combined with proper coaching, can be a tremendous asset to hitters of all levels.

  5. Premier product for all ages and any level of hitting

Posted by John Whited, Greensboro Batting Center on 31st Mar 2011

I am a professional hitting instructor in Greensboro, NC. The Drive Developer and the I.T.S hitting system has revolutionized the way teach hitting. This product is an invaluable piece of equipment for young players to players at the professional level.
